A Country Kitchen With German Schmeer Style Brick Wall
Our designer Andrea Vaughan created this beautiful country kitchen for her client in Swan View. The hero of this space is the exposed German schmeer-style brick wall created by masonry mastercraftsman Ian Ivory. Each brick was cut and fit to size in a specific heritage brick suited to the home and then whitewashed. Andrea’s client wanted her kitchen to be completely refreshed and redesigned so it had a better flow, more functionality and benchspace for her to bake with her grandchildren and she is delighted with the result. Having met with previous kitchen designers who didn’t come up with the kitchen she was after, it took Andrea only one meeting to produce a design that was exactly how her client had envisaged her kitchen. A bespoke display cabinet now houses beautiful plates, teapots and treasures and has three drawers for spices or nicknacks.
