Creating designs that are functional and timeless
Samantha Farrell is our latest Designer to join the team boasting a Bachelor of Interior Architecture with Honours and a passionate determination to create designs that are both functional and timeless.
Having graduated from Curtin University, Samantha set about gaining work experience after her degree and then wanted to see the world.
She travelled extensively through Europe, basing herself in Greece for a while, absorbing and being inspired by Europe’s stunning architecture and design across many different cultures.
Travelling to Canada, Samantha then settled in Vancouver working for an Interior Decorating firm where she gained extensive knowledge in client communication and client presentations.
“I specialised in creating beautiful imagery that portrayed the design to the client, as well as detailed technical drawings for builders,” Samantha said.
“After returning home to Australia I wanted to continue to purse my passion for interior design and have worked with a Perth-based company specialising in bathroom design for local clientele. My move to Joyce Kitchens seemed a natural progression and is a great fit for me. I am excited to work with clients, to create for them what they are envisaging in their own minds and to continue to grow as a designer.
“I enjoy creating designs that are both functional and timeless. It is important for me to get to know how a client uses their space in day-to-day life and create a design that enhances this activity.
“Finding creative storage solutions so we can achieve a minimalist design, with functionality at the forefront. I love the feeling when you show a client the final design and they can truly visualise the space and are surprised that it is possible within their home.”
Samantha said when she is not working you will mostly likely find her teaching cheerleading.
“Cheerleading is tough physically and the routines can be incredibly challenging. I have been in the industry for 15+ years and I love that it uses a different part of my creative brain. I like to help the athletes strive for clean sharp routines, similar to the clean lines I love to create in a design.”
