Members of the prominent Perth Vlahov family are usually scattered across the globe pursuing their high-level basketball and career goals.

Now they’ve found themselves all back together in their western suburbs home, due to the recent COVID-19 isolation restrictions and border controls.

Three-time NBL Champion, four-time Olympian, former Wildcats’ owner and West Australian of the Year, Andrew Vlahov, OAM, full time working wife and mother Claire and their children Abbey, Ethan (who’s usually playing US College Basketball in California) and Ruby (who is part of the State Basketball programare all back under one roof – along with Foster son Lachie  and their two French Bulldogs, Winston and Poppy.

‘It’s been great – but a bit loud and testing at times too!,’ said Andrew.

‘We’ve made the most of the forced isolation by really trying to spend quality time together. It had been five years since we’ve all been together for an extended period of time.

‘During isolation, we spent more time at home than ever before, training together tik toking together and just hanging out watching our favourite Netfix shows,’ Andrew said.

‘We didn’t realise how much the kids had been growing while we were all going about our lives and spreading out around the world and we really noticed that when we all piled back into the house together.

‘The kids are all pretty tall, they eat a lot and the kitchen could barely cope!

‘We did come to the realisation that it might be time now for a bit of renovation and that we need to get a bit more storage and function out of our kitchen!’

Joyce Kitchens heard the Vlahov’s story and invited them to be ambassadors for its new advertising campaign, showing how a custom kitchen renovation – created by a team of internationally award-winning designers – can be built to size and purpose, as well as for style, practicality and functionality, no matter what the family circumstances.

Joyce Kitchens is an iconic leading Perth interior renovation company that’s known for exceptional kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, studies and luxury walk-in-roles. All the cabinetry is built by skilled craftspeople in the local O’Connor factory.

‘Joyce Kitchens featured recently in Channel 7’s House Rules Perth renovation and the result was amazing,’ Andrew said.

‘It’s a well-known, long-standing brand that has a reputation for quality and great design, so we were happy to get on board with the TV campaign. We had a lot of fun on set during the filming of the advertisements.

‘Now we’re also going to let Joyce Kitchens loose in our house to take charge of our kitchen renovation.

‘We’re look forward letting people in to see the progress and the finished product  – watch this space!

‘We’re hoping next time the whole family gets back together that it’ll be a bit easier and a little more comfortable at home.’

The Vlahov family will feature in the advertising campaign, highlighting new the new Homebuilder Grant starting at the end of June.
